About Us

Cosy Yarns was created to showcase our love of alpacas and help you appreciate their magnificent fleece, and use the various available products in a range of crafts. Jill and Ken of Molonga Alpacas, formed Cosy Yarns in 2012 as a way of presenting the superior quality of alpaca fleece and producing alpaca fibre for knitters, spinners, weavers and lovers of craft. Molonga Alpacas is situated in a lush, picturesque valley at Grose Vale NSW.  We established our small farm in 2002.  However it was not until 2007 that we acquired our first alpacas and we have continued to produce well-bred animals with fine, low micron fleece of excellent quality. We at Cosy Yarns are actively involved in the alpaca industry, helping at local shows, industry events and public Expos. We also assist with various roles in the Hawkesbury Blue Mountains Alpaca Association, where Ken has been the association’s treasurer for the past seven years. Cosy Yarns is committed to providing you with a wide selection of products that highlight the natural colours of the alpaca fleece, without the need for having to dye the yarn.  The diversity of animals within our herd is something we’re proud of and hope that you’ll appreciate too. We will continue to source fine quality stud males to strengthen our bloodlines, and as a result, broaden the range of colours and products to ensure that you have a wide selection of different fleece and merchandise. Cosy Yarns is also fortunate to have access to the know-how of locals Sue and Ray Graves from Gum Nut Cottage Mill, at Glenorie who expertly process our fleeces and create the various products we offer. We’re proud that Cosy Yarns is 100% Australian, with all of our fleeces grown and shorn on our farm, or acquired from other growers in the area. Our aim is to supply quality alpaca products that all craft-loving people can utilise. Cosy Yarns produces natural fibres so that you can create wonderful garments and other hand-crafted items… limited only by your imagination.
